We are booked on the new boat Jasmine Junk early next year. Has anyone been on a cruise on this boat yet? I would appreciate a report

My friend and I are booked on this boat for two nights Mid March 2008- booked through Luxury Vietnam Tours because our friend had previously used them- will let you guys know how it goes. Bit worried about the weather it appears to be very cold there at the moment!

My husband and I went on the Jasmine boat for one night in March 08 (US and Kiwi). It definitely looked like the best boat in Halong Bay.

It is a very new boat with a good floor plan that allows you to sit inside or out. Nice furnishing and fittings etc.

Book a room with a private balcony if you can. We got a complimentary upgrade to one of the Jacuzzi suites which is a little bigger.

Service was superb. Staff very friendly. Food was good.

High recommendation despite the high price.

My wife and I did a three day/two night trip on Jasmine in late April, and it was pretty terrific. The boat itself is beautiful, and very well appointed. The one-night package seemed a bit rushed; I'm glad we didn't do that - on our second day, we were put onto a small boat which took us to a series of secluded lagoons for sea kayaking (which was easier than expected) and then lunch on the boat (freshly cooked, served with white linen, silverware etc), followed by a swim in a quiet bay. Wonderful, apart from a broken rudder on the sea kayak which saw us driven into a cave wall by an incoming tide - which was pretty terrifying. The food was very good, but there was too much! 6 course dinners are grand, but rather filling! It isn't cheap, but we didn't think that it was bad value - I'd recommend it. It is a very slick polished operation.

For all those waiting on a report on the Jasmine Cruise...here goes.

We were picked up on time at our hotel in Hanoi and transported to the cruise terminal in Halong Bay. They are a bit away from where most of the boast leave from so it wasn't quiet the madhouse it appeared to be there as we drove by.

We were met and seated in a waiting area where we could purchase a drink then waited until we were called for departure. Transfers all went well and the boat was beautiful. It took a while for everyone to be transferred and allocated their rooms but the bar was open. Weather on departure was very poor but when we got further into the bay the cool winds were blocked and it was beautiful. Lunch was seafood and stylishly prepared. Tours off the boat were interesting and all other meals were excellent. Rooms were well appointed and very comfortable. Just remember to close the curtains if you are getting changed especially if your cabin is on the lower level!! Staff were pleasant and the bar was well stocked although, as expected, a little expensive.

My only criticism is they showed the movie 'Indochine' after dinner just when we were all getting ready to relax and maybe have a few more drinks. We all moved to the back deck and only about 8 of the 30-40 passengers stayed to watch the movie. My itinerary said interaction and dancing with staff after dinner ...didn't even look like happening. A magnificent, not to missed destination in elegant comfort

Hi, we read some feeds back on tripadvisor forum and already booked Jasmine cruise through a local travel agency for our trip at the end of this month . They have recommended us to travel on this luxury cruise, and ensure the same quality as quite lot of money we pay. Service is excellent and it has a trade mark on your own.

but, we would still like to know more about Jasmine, could anyone share with us including essentials we need to bring with us on travelling to Vietnam, Halong,

Many thanks
