ReviewsEmeraude Halong Cruise

Here are reviews from real travellers. They gave comments on the boats that they have experienced

Emeraude Classic Cruise

Emeraude Classic? Has anyone been on this cruise? Any feedback would be appreciated.

This is the best cruise in Halong bay, the biggest and most expensive one. Should book from other travel agent, they have good contract rate, then they will give you cheaper price. Cheers, Thu.

Hi Could someone recommend with boat I should use to go on Halong Bay
Emeraude Cruise or Bhaya Cruise. they both look good, so I need to know if anyone has any information on them

Hi John, Back today from wonderful Vietnam.

We had left it until we arrived to book our Halong Bay Trip,( being uncomfortable with giving all credit card details including passport number for internet booking). Couldn't get The Emeraude but got the Bhaya and were very glad!. The Bhaya is only 6 months old, we dropped anchor beside The Emeraude for the night, it's smaller and more of a traditional 'Junk'.

Our cabins very comfortable 'colonial' style, en suite, complete with roses on our pillows, little sound proofing though. Food excellent but not huge quantities, the buffet was descended upon by a group of Spanish ladies 'of a certain age' who were very hungry!. Service great ( as it was everywhere) . Kayaking was an option, along with two cave visits, the first worth doing for beautiful views and photo opportunities from the high cliff. The journey from Hanoi was a long 'chicken run' of near misses with a private driver,. through the countryside most of which was beautiful . We did the one night trip, which I think was enough as the boats don't really go very far Missing sitting on the deck with cold glass of wine watching 'Indochine' whilst the islands faded into darkness and tai chi at dawn already. We booked with First Choice tours, but any tour operator will do, we had a superior cabin ( only a twin I'm afraid!) but had a peep into a suite and it was lovely....so if it's a special occasion. Enjoy.

Bhaya Cruise

Which is better for a family of 4 adults who loves seafood? Bhaya Cruise is much costlier than Santa Maria, does the service and accommodation justify the extra $?

Anyone been on both of these junks who can advice us e.g. difference in size of the double beds (we are 2 adults and one 2 year old child) in Bhaya vs Indochina, quality of the food between the two junks? Thank you

I been to Halong for 4 times.
I have stayed on Valentine, if you travel with kids. i think Valentine is more space especially you can get the suite room.
Indochina has bigger room still it have about 10 room compare with the bhaya 20 rooms which boat size is smaller so you do not expect that the room is bigger.

even i heard the service at Bhaya is slightly better.
best trip!
also I use this agent in Vietnam for last 2 years. they superb please check contact them Halong Bay Online

Hi,
Bhaya Junk and Indochina sails?
Both of those junks are very good. However you can not go on two junks and if i were you, i would choose Indochina sails. The reason is that i can have bigger cabin on Indochina sails (Valentine Deluxe cabin, 19 square meters, in comparison with Bhaya Royal Suite 16 square meters) or you can get bigger cabin on Indochina sails (Valentine Suite 30 square meters)

Both junk are luxurious junks in Halong bay and food on boat is excellent. Don't be worried about that even you choose any of two above
Good luck

Just returned from the Valentine and it was great. A couple had a 6 month baby on board with no trouble in their cabin. there is one room that is bigger but the cabin we had would have fitted a 2 persons. Only 5 berths on the Valentine and the staff are great with kids.
cheers
Dave

I don't know much about Bhaya Junk so I have no comment about them. But I visited Halong bay with Indochina Sails, the food is very nice with Buffet dinner sea food and wine tasting at late afternoon. And I know that they don't charge for child under 5 so your 2 year old child will be free of charge. If you have special request about food you can tell them in advance, it's ok.
Have a nice trip on Halong bay

Princess Junk cruise

Hi, All

We are going to book Princess Junk Halong through CruisesHalong.Com have anyone gone on Princess Junk Halong ? is this the best one in Halong ?

Many thanks.

We've just got back from Vietnam a couple of weeks ago. We went on the Valentine Junk and it was fantastic, see my comments on the link below:

Tessa,
Join with the Red Dragon Cruise (www.reddragoncruise.com), which is newer. It saves a lot of money. It costs just 168 USD per person.

Princess is nice for a honeymooner couple. It is also operated by Indochina Junk Company.

Have a nice time in Vietnam!
